Anonymous asked: People talk about Air signs as being detached, but I’ve experienced just the opposite. I’m a Scorpio sun, and have found Aquariuses to be there for me more emotionally than water signs. Maybe this is because of my chart? Most of my plants are Sagittarius then Libra. I’ve just found water signs to be emotional but awkward towards others feelings.
A lot of the stereotypes about the elements’ emotional natures… skewered tbh. Water signs may be a bit more receptive and self-reflective but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re better at expressing their emotions. Cancers often shut down and harden if you ask them to talk about their feelings, Scorpios will just keep a cold distance if you start asking questions about their feelings, and Pisces will avoid their emotions like it’s the plague until it builds up to the point of them exploding. Air signs are NOT detached. Air is the social element of the zodiac, so they’re literally more driven to be connected than the other elements. The difference is that they are intellectual, so rather than acting or reacting based off of a gut feeling or simply their emotions in the moment, they think things through and analyze before they do anything. People just take that objectivity as “detached” when in reality they just don’t put their own feelings into things if they think it’ll make a mess. They express their emotions just as much as anyone else would, they just express it from a logical perspective rather than a big, long, heartbreaking monologue or in huge, intense, passionate bursts. The same goes for earth and fire. Everyone expresses emotion, they just approach them differently. Not everyone is the type to hug you and cry with you, but that doesn’t mean they’re void of emotion. Sorry if this was long lol but this is a strong topic for me.
